Severe acid reflux even from water

I am 7 days post op from a Lap Band procedure. I ended up back in the ER because I couldn't keep anything down. I had an upper GI and it showed a great deal of swelling so I am on clear liquids. Even if I drink water I can spit out almost a cup of stomach acid. I am barely staying hydrated because of the pain of drinking anything. Did anyone else experience this? How long did it last?
