Is the first bowel movement normally diarrhea????

I just got home post op 5 days with no bowel movement until now. When I went I had diarrhea and had to get my husband to wipe me. I followed the diet, had jello with protein, mixed that with my plain yogurt, had a popsicle, fudgsicle and a few tiny sips of nonfat milk mixed with protein powder. Was this normal and am I eating ok??
