What kind of chemicals have you used post op?

Due to my whacked hormones, my hair before surgery got extremely curly in one year. I would buy "no lye relaxers" and use them to straighten/relax my hair a bit. I have not done this post op, yet. Seems that since I am losing so much of my hair, it is lighter/finer and now CURLIER! What I want to know is if anyone thinks this would affect my hair loss adversely or not?
