Ok another RS question! I need advice from those who had it done.

I know to look for a Plastic Surgeon and Interview several, but when it comes to the Insurance(I have BCBS PPO)can I call them first to see if I qualify or do I have to go see my Doctor or a P-Surgeon first? Also, should I start looking now 7mo post-op, my weight is slowing down alot, or should I wait until my 1year? I'm not sure how long the RS time frame is on getting approved til day of surgery? Thank you for the help...I'm so clueless and I don't know people personally that's had this done to ask questions :o)
