How long does it take for the B-12 shot to kick in?

I got my first on Monday this week and if anything I have been ALOT more tired than I had been. In fact when I got the shot I remember thinking I couldn't feel any better and I was probably wasting my money. Now, I keep waiting for it to kick in because several people told me how great they felt when they got the shot. I had been taking a chewable 1000 mcg a day. Thanks for your input. k.
