I think I might be pregnant

I am a week pregnant for my period and I am 22 months post op. I have purchased a home pregnancy test, but I was wondering is there were any special considerations to using the home test because of my surgery. I drink a lot of water and it goes through me pretty fast so I am worried that the HCG concentration might be too low to register on the test. I see no signs of my friend comming soon. No bloating, no cramping, no weight gain, and my breasts are tender like they were the last time I was pregnant. I just want to know how is the best way to take the test to get the most accurate results. Any post ops gone through this? I could use any advice. I am currently unemployed and can't afford a doctor's blood test. Thanks in advance for your answers.
