Has anyone tried to strike a deal with the Dr?

I will be my surgeons FIRST lap patient. He has been doing open for awhile(RNY). My insurance only pays 80% after the deductible. I see the surgeon 3 days before surgery. Would it be too tacky to ask him to pay the 20%, since I'm basically his "experiment" lol and how many people would be willing to be a DR's first try(ha ha). My attitude is that the Dr. is in business like any other business person, and why shouldn't I "strike a deal". What do you guys think? Go for it or chicken out? ****GretcheeGirl****
