Open incision after staples are removed

Has anyone had a problem with their incision being open after the staples were removed. My staples came out today and there is about a 1-2 inch section that seperated a bit but is not very deep. How have others dealt with this problem and how long does it take to fully close up. My doctor said not to worry about this but it just makes me nervous that the incision is not fully closed. Guess I should not complain though, down 10 lbs 9 days post op.
