How long tillyou hair started to get thicker again?

I had surg. Dec 6,2002. My hair loss started a couple months after, I would say its about 25% loss. Not bad, thinner in some places than other..but how long before it should start to "grow back" thicken up. Down 95-100 lbs now, 25 lbs from goal.
