I was told you must eat SOMETHING for the vitimans to work?

I have read a lot of posts here about vitimans. I see some say dont worry if you cant eat etc. I was told by a doctor that vitimans only work when you eat food WITH them. That if you are just drinking water and taking vitimans (thats the same as fasting) and it goes right through your system. I wondered if anyone else had heard this also?
