Paxil & weight gain. Will the use of Paxil inhibit my weight loss?

I am under the impression that taking Paxil will cause weight gain. I've been on it for about 5 years and am not sure I would attribute all my weight gain to Paxil, but possibly some! I am now on a lower dosage than previously but am still concerned about the possibility of not being able to lose as rapidly or as well while taking this drug. I went without it for almost 5 days after surgery (maybe more) and I found myself with rather emotional over all sorts of things. But depression wasn't one of them! However, I was afraid of not taking it as I know quitting suddenly is not good. What are your thoughts? Lacy
