Do I have to have a newe approval if I was already approved 10 months ago?

I received an approval for a duodenal switch/biliopancreatic diversion in November,2002, from Medicaid. I did not have the surgery and now I have been approved for an rny(lap). I am wondering if I will have a problem. They approved me for one, I assume they will for the other. any advice??
