Has anyone switched Anti-depressants a month and a half before surgery?

I have switched my medications from effexor to wellbutrin. My surgery date was supposed to be in the middle of august, but because I told the wish center psych that I did this, she wants to push back my surgery 3 months. The psych that changed my meds said I am capable of the surgery. I feel great on the wellbutrin and am ready for this surgery. Now I have to get another opinion (more money) from another psych before my Doctor with stay on track with my time schedule. Is this a normal situation because I feel like I am getting messed with by the wish center psych and am a bit pissed off.
