Had NG tube out 2 days ago. I have alot of pain and fever.

Had surgery on Thursday and went home on Saturday and was doing great for a few day. I thought, wow, this is too busy. Was sent home on a full liquid diet. I was eating baby food #2 and mashed potatoes and drinking. My husband fixed me mashed potatoes and the problem seemed to start there. They were like normal mashed potatoes and too many but, I can't believe it, I ate them anyway instead of bothering him and asking him to put some milk in it. The next morning when I got up I felt like I had mashed potatoes on my tongue. Later I decided that somehow I had stripped my tongue because it was bright pink. So I went on yogurt to help with that. I started having pain and swelling in my belly and each days seemed worse. I had yogurt for 2 days. By Friday I was miserable. The NG tube seemed to be what was hurting. Doctor took it out on Friday and said it wasn't infected even thought it was red around the tube. I told him I was having my temperatures in the 99's. He said that wasn't unusual. By 7PM, 6 hours later, my temperature rose to 101.5 so I called. He seemed puzzled and said that not much happends after 8 days out. Said to take tynelol for the fever and prescribed antiobiotic for general purpose. It hurts for me to take a deep breath and use the breathing monitor. I'm really sore. He said that he would do a CT scan if it continued. He's 75 minutues away and since I seem to be getting better, I haven't called him again. I thought maybe the yogurt contributed to the problem. I've only had see through liquids yesterday and today. Has anyone else experienced such problems?
