I have developed sores on the inside of my mouth, especially the roof of my mouth

A nurse practioner friend said this could be a vitamin deficiency. I am 14 months post op and take all my vitamins, although not faithfully. For instance, sometimes In forget on the weekends. Anyone else experience this? AND could it be just a virus or something? I will check with my doctor in two more weeks at my appointment and don't want to make an emergency appointment. Just wondering if anyone can give me some feedback. Thanks
