If you had a choice, how did you decide between DS and Lapband?

I'm reading about both DS and Lapband and am wondering how you decide which one to have. I'm wondering for those who were able to choose, what made your decision between them (dr availabilty? insurance coverage? something about each procedure- either living with it or the procedure itself?)
