Has anyone ever had Postpartum thyroiditis?

I had my daughter 7 months ago and I was diagnosed w/ Postpartum thyroiditis a month after she was born. My dr. told me that this is when you get an overactive thyroid for a month or 2, then get an underactive one for a few months, then it is suppose to level out. My level is at 9 now, a few months ago it was 39. The Dr. said it will probably never get completely better and I will most likely have to take meds for the rest of my life. He said he has never seen someone take so long to get back to normal from this Postpartum thing. I am 23 and he doesn't have me on any medications right now. Has anyone had to deal with something like this and were you able to get WLS??
