When can we eat, if ever, corn as well as popcorn?

The information I got from my surgeon suggests that corn may be difficult for us to digest post-op and I was just wondering if anyone out there has tried it, and how long post-op before trying it? Fresh corn on the cob is one of my favorites. Also, my favorite snack is popcorn and I am wondering if popcorn is better or worse than regular corn. When might I try eating popcorn again? I am way ahead of myself, I am not eating anything at all yet, only 9 days post-op lap rny. Thanks
