Has anyone been converted from a short to a long limb bypass?

My sister in law had a gastric bypass 18 yrs ago and has since gained most of her weight back. Her pouch and staple lines are intack. Pouch holds 75cc-stoma is big. MD is not willing to redo pouch instead wants to convert to long limb. She is worried about constant diarrhea and nutritional deficiency. She is also concerned that she will continue to have a large appetite. Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks!
