Has anyone suffered from small bowel obstruction...

I have severe pain in the upper right region of my abdomen. Note: I had my gallbladder removed 4 years ago, so it's not a gallbaldder attack. I went to the ER two nights ago and they could not find anything wrong after a 7 hour visit and after an abdominal ultrasound, lab tests, and an abd x-ray. So, I saw a GI Specialist the next day. He thinks that I may have a small bowel obstruction. Has anyone suffered from this problem before? And if so, what were your symptoms and how were you treated for this condition? Thanks in advance for your help.
