Does anyone think an elliptical exercise machine is a good/intense form of exercise?
Hi all, I am over 2 years postop, lost a total 165 lbs and 90 inches, and am trying to get the last 20 lbs off. Currently I walk and use a Gazelle glider 30 minutes each 6 days a week; no weights right now because I am 2.5 months postop from a tummy tuck and waiting for doctors approval to use weights again. My husband and I have been contimplating purchasing an elliptical exercise machine. It looks like it would give me a more intense workout in less time. Has anyone used one and had good experiences? I don't want to purchase another piece of equipment that would gather dust, too many of those in my past. We plan on going to our local sporting goods store and trying out a few models over the next few weeks, but I wanted some opinions from the people here. We thought this would be a good christmas gift to each other.
We first looked into getting one of those tread climbers advertised on the infomercials, but were stunned to see the cost was $1500 to $2200 before shipping. Then one of my coworkers suggested an elliptical machine. She said all the "skinny" ladies at her gym were always on them, so they must give a good workout.
Thanks in advance for any input.
