True low carbing...what about those impact/non impact carbs?

I'm doing low carbs over the holidays, to counter the cookie attack out there this time of year. It's been a while since I really jumped into a low carb diet and I picked up a few of the Advantage Bars by Atkins. Whats up with the 22 g carb count on wrapper, but the disclaimer telling me to only count 2g carbs. I understand that Atkins wants me to subtract fiber and glygerine and a few other things. But, do you folks who follow low carb on a regular basis find this to be accurate? It makes me a little leary. I usually follow a low calorie diet and it works fine for me. I just like to do low carb once inwhile to jump start things when they get really slow. I realize that the calorie count is way up when I do low carbs, so I get leary when I see something with 220 calories list 22 g as carb. I feel like I'm ruining either dietary approach by eating it. Please give me your opinions on these products. Thanks. -Kim open RNY 7/17/01 -145lbs
