What is the shortest amount of time a surgeon has left in a g-tube?

I am One week post -op and am doing phenominally well. I have never had cause to use my g-tube yet it causes me much pain and irritation. I have to see my surgeon on Friday and was wondering if I should ask him to take it out and what my chances are that he would do it.
