A substitiute for Powdered Sugar & and/or butter?
My birthday is coming up next month. I'm hoping to find a good low fat chocolate cake recipe (I'll sub Splenda for any sugar). I tried a low fat cake recipe once that had apple sause and it was hidious. I'd rather eat regular that eat anything so bad as that again. However I've never cared for frosting unless it's made from powdered sugar (PS tastes less sweet to me which is why I like it). I also like the butter that is mixed with the powdered sugar! Is there a reasonalby good substitute for powdered sugar? As long as I'm asking, what about for the butter/margerine or Buttered Flavored Crisco? "I've made alot of positive changes that I feel I can mantain life long without feeling deprived". However I would like to enjoy a sliver a cake for my birthday too. If I can't sub anything, I'll just eat a sliver of regular cake as I did that less than a week ago without problems. But I would rather use substitutes if I can find them and if they don't taste to bad. Thanks.
