Personal Choice paid for my surgery, but won't pay for my consultation

I am 3 1/2 months post op- the insurance co. paid for everything... Now what?? Anyone else ever have this happen to them? What should I do? The consult was $300.00, and the surgeons office is looking to me for payment. Should I just pay it, or try to fight with the insurance co to cover it.
