Help! I am having frequent periods and break-thru bleeding.

I am currently 3 months post-op. I began taking my birth control pills again at 1 month post-op. I had a period while I was in the hospital and then again 2 weeks ago (on schedule with my pills). However, now I am having another heavy period (the last one was very heavy and painful) in mid-cycle! I take my pills faithfully and at the same time every day. Has anyone else had this happen? Any input would be helpful. Thanks!
