Is there anyone who has epilepsy/narcolepsy who had a RNY and can absorb their meds?

I went to the surgeons consult, and he said that I could not have an RNY, because my epilepsy and narcolepsy meds wouldn't be absorbed, and would go straight through me. He said they would, even if I crushed them. If this is true, what is the use of chewable vitamins? I have postponed my surgery to find out more about this. Does anyone take these Neuro meds, that has had a RNY, and have no problem with absorption? Thank you for your answers!!
