Does anyone have an idea how to remove the residual goo left from IV bandages, etc.?

I'm having a hard time removing this stuff, even when i give each spot a good hard scrubbing with a shower puff. There's got to be an easier way besides removing several layers of skin. Plus it looks like i haven't showered in weeks! P.S. - I checked the library on this one, but couldn't find a search term which would adequately cover the topic without bringing up several hundred responses. Thanks in advance!
