Excluded both husb/mine ins.....any one ever have ins cover if excluded?

I have been saving up for my surgery....I'm sure exclusions on both my husbands and mine ins...called on both...was just told excluded.....has anyone ever went to the trouble with the situation and ended up having the ins co cover? I kind of feel like "why bother on one hand" but then If there was a chance....I'd feel stupid not trying...thanx
