Quantitative D Dimer is high

I wanted to know if anyone has heard of the Quantitative D Dimer test they say that's how they determine if you have a pulmonary embolism...Well normal test results are (0-240) and mine is 303 my Dr. did a cat scan and chest x-ray and there was no sign of a blood clot but told me to take baby asprin. My question is, should i be concerned about this i haven't had my surgery yet but it's coming closer i know i should ask my Surgeon just wanted to know if anyone else had a high clotting factor and if so what was done? And did you have any complications during or after surgery? I am a mother of four children and my twin son is only five and he told me a minute ago "Mommy if you fall in a hole i'm going with you cause i will miss you" :( made me tear...he meant if i get buried...He overheard my conversation wich i was not aware of the last thing i want to do is scare them. I just don't want to worry and sure the heck don't want to leave my babies i'm all they have.
