Chanaging Insurance in the middle of Application Will my new insurance turn me down

My husbands co. is changing insurance companies and I have already applied with my present insurance and I don't know if the next insurance co. will turn me down because of pre-existing condition. Anyone know how this works, cause I am tempted to pay to continue the old insurance till this is approved.
