What types of expenses can I expect when having surgery out of state?

I am considering going to SF, CA to have my surgery. What type of expenses aside from the hotel can I expect. Do I need to budget for anything I may not be thinking of. Right now we are thinking hotel room, transportation, food for my helper. We are probably wanting to stay for about 1 week(will that be long enough?) there and will be flying there and back from Tulsa. Has anyone else done this and can you let me know about your costs so I know what to expect. Thanks, Char Gibson
