Anyone had surgery (RNY or plastic) out of US?

Hi all. I'm considering having abdominoplasty, breast lift/augmentation and brachioplasty done out of the country. I'm looking into South Africa and Mexico. I'd like to know about experiences you've had having surgery (either plastic or bypass) in places other than the US. How did you find a good surgeon? What was it like to have surgery in a strange place? What were the facilities like? How did they differ from those in the US? What were your results like? Did the experience meet your expectations? I must admit that I have trepidation about having surgery in Mexico, but $$$ is a huge factor. (Less nervous about South Africa, as their surgeons are excellent, but the travel time is over 25 hours, not including stop overs.) Any and all info would be greatly appreciated! Much mahalo, Joya.
