How wls saved my life

Before I had wls I was scared and felt alone.I found this web site and started reading hundreds of profiles and before and after pictures.I would sit up all night sometimes and wish that I could be like all these people who have saved their lives and changed them as well.I started looking into wls and after 12 months of pre-testing and countless Dr appointments I had wls on Dec 1 2003.My starting weight was 565 lbs(my highest was 598 lbs).Today I weigh 251 lbs and feel so alive.I am 45 and I never thought i'd live this long.My dad died at the age of 45 and he weighed over 500 lbs at the time of his death,my Brother Richard died at the age of 26 he weighed over 500 lbs at the time of his death.I am the only male survivor left in my family and I thank God I got a second chance.I sit here today and I still read profiles every day and the before and after pictures and I feel so blessed to be here today.I miss my Dad and Brother and I recently went home to Worcester Mass for a visit my first time since wls and I went to the graves of my Father and Brother and I couldn't stop crying and I said "Dad,Rich i'm still alive I made it"...I loved them so much and if only they where giving a chance like I was it would all be different.WLS saved my life and this web site played a major part in my desision to have wls.I thank all of the people who have posted on this web site for giving me the courage to save my life.May God bless each and every one of you..........steve
