i think i have an infection

i accidentally scratched one of my incisions last night and this green stuff came out...just a little. It didnt smell but it is a little red around the edges and hard. I called the surgeon and she said unless its really coming out to just use peroxide and antibiotic cream. Im really paranoid,id ont want anything to go wrong but should i go to the ER? The surgeon is over 2 hours away. My PCP is booked...or should i do the peroxide thing? I dont have a fever and im 12 days PO. any suggestions are appreciated. Lap RNY 9-16-03 -30pds.
