does eating too much protein cause protein to be in the urine??

never had ny problems with this before surgery? Now all of a sudden they found some-anybody else going through this-I am scared,shaking,and crying reading stuff on yahoo that I might have kidney failure, I am diabetic but my sugars are normal and I've never had any problems with uncontrolled blood sugars, I have been off meds since the surgery and my hemoglobin was 7.4-Am i crying and worrying for nothing? I'm really scared
