I need advice on choosing and purchasing a wig.

I had my surgery on 12-18-02 and want to be prepared in the event that I start to lose my hair. I am considering getting a wig to have on hand just in case. Those of you who have bought wigs---what advice do you have? Did you order from a catalog/on-line or did you go to a store to try some on first? I want to get something that looks like myself---any advice will be appreciated, including good websites. Thanks guys!
