I am so thirsty all the time, help!

I am 8 days post op. and I am so thirsty. My Doctor is very firm about only 2 Ounces every 2 hours Maximum. That goes for food or water, this is for 3 weeks. I am soo thirsty, I could drink a river. Help!!
