sucess with lap band

Are there people out their who had the lap band and are happy that they made that choice? I am scheduled to see Dr.Pratt at MGH on September 28th and I am more anxious then I have ever been in my life. I also think I am grieving my relationship with food and how it will change. Overweight my entire life and would like to enjoy my fifties without mega medical problems.
