Can you take vicadin after sugery

I had feet problems before surgery and had to take vicadin at night.We are hoping that after I get the weight off I will not have this pain.I had surgery March 15-07.I have not had a fill yet so I still can swallow small pills.Tonight I cut them in half and took two, since doctore office closed.I am wondering if this will hurt my pouch.
