A RUDE AWAKENING!!!!!!
Hello all my OH friends!! I would like to share something VERY important! I had RNY 8 months ago. I had to do a 4 week liquid diet prior to my surgery date, in which I lost 35 pounds! So, when I started this I weighed 408. Day of surgery I weighed in at 373. Ok, so as of today I weigh 260. I havent lost any weight at all since July 17th. So, I was chalking it up to having hit a plateau. I know we all hit those. I figured I had been eating ok, and working out 30 min day. I thought I was ok. I was eating all fat-free, sugar-free foods, what could I POSSIBLY be doing wrong. Well, at the end of my rope, I sent in my menu to my NUT, asking her what I was doing wrong. WELLLLLL, I WAS DOING EVERYTHING WRONG!! I figured as long as it was no fat and no suger, I could consume it. I just wanted to share a list of things that we as RNY patients should stay away from. I want everyone to be achieve their goals, because I know what its like to struggle myself. Foods to avoid, and if you already know this, I apologize, just trying to help. ANY KIND OF crackers, chips, pretzels, cerals, potatoes, cheese, milk, sweets of ANY kind, protein bars, protein drinks. I was told I can have ANY kind of lean meats, eggs, beans, any vegetables except for potatoes, and I could have apples, pears, melons, and plums. I know every NUT is different, but just for people who might be on a plateau that seems to be lasting a little TO long, hopefully this will help. God bless you all!!
