I've had an ear infection for about 6 weeks, need advise.

I've been on two courses of antibiotics and ear drops for an ear infection that I've had for about 6 weeks and so far it hasn't cleared up. Would especially like to hear (LOL) from medical professionals if you think that maybe because of absorption issues the antibiotics may not be working like they should and if so, what else (or in what form) could I take meds.
