Has anyone had a change with their thyroid after losing weight?

I am post-op Lap band Dec 19, 07 having lost 47 pounds. I just got home for the hospital for a A fibb heart arrhythmia. The doctor said my Thyroid seems to have reversed itself from hypo thyroid to normal or close to hyper. I was taking 75 mil synthroid which was too much. They had to shock my heart to get a normal beat and the doctor put me on betapace until the thyroid under control. Has this happened to anyone else? Thanks alot!
