depo shot and gastric bypass

So I've started the depo shot, and I know women experience different things on it, like irregular periods, or none at all, or extremely heavy for a long time...I've been bleeding for about 2 weeks, very heavily for the past 8 days maybe? Just wondering if this is a normal reaction with gastric patients, or am I just one of the unlucky ones where its really heavy for a long time?
