Pain Meds

Does anyone know if it is true that as Gastric Bypass patients we absorb our pain med and other meds faster than other people? In other words I mean they don't stay in our bodies as long as other people that don't have the surgery. I had my surgery almost 10 yrs, ago RNY Thank you
