Help!!! Surgery scheduled with surgeon but not with hospital???

Finally after what felt like an eternity... I have been scheduled with the surgeon to get the lap band 8/8/08. I am so stressed out because it is 8 days away and the surgeon hasn't even scheduled it with the hospital. Every time I call the surgeons office, I get a different explanation. The one today was that they were awaiting the approval from my ins and as soon as they got it they'd put me in. I have nys govt empire.... does any one know how long they take to approve? Has anyone else finally had it scheduled and their PST's done all in one week??? I am so scared that at the last minute I won't be able to have it and then I will be so heartbroken!!!
