Has anyone tried Soy Protein?

Has anyone tried Soy Protein? Is it a product that can be used after surgery? I haven't had surgery but doing research on gastric bypass and I have been buying samples packages of protein powders to see if I can drink the protein shakes before having surgery. I like the tastes of Soy protein better than Whey protein. Which I know everything will taste different after surgery.
