1 year or longer post ops...can you dump years after surgery?

i was just wondering does the dumping syndrome last for a short while or can it also happen 1,5 10 years later? i do dump if i eat anything with to much sugar.mainly i noticed it was if i eat it on a empty stomach.i avoid any sugar now.if it has more than 5 grams per serving i do not eat it.but i was just wondering how long does this affect happen?i had RNY july 28th and down 71 lbs.thanks in advance for any info.
