very personal embarrising question

This is quite embarrissing. Yesterday I was walking on treadmill and felt like I needed to wipe my butt because I felt something wet. I went to restroom and there was bright red blood. I did not have a bowel movement since early that am. I contacted nurse and she said to just watch it and monitor my bp as I have no history of hemorrhoids. It has not happened since. Has this happened to anyone else?
