Tryptophan Sensitivity?

I'm four years post op. My buddies tease me all the time, because after eating anything with turkey in it, I get sooooo sleepy. I know the myth about tryptophan, but is it possible that surgery heightened the reaction to it? It's completely 100% NOT in my head! Even if I don't realize I ate a turkey sandwich, my friends will!
